Family favourite SZ Territory
With the stunning new SZ Territory now in Ford showrooms across the country, families will have the first opportunity to check out the full range – TS, TX and all-new Titanium Territory – at the AIMS.

As Australia's only locally designed and built SUV, the new SZ Territory has undergone an exhaustive redesign to incorporate enhancements and changes to its drivetrains, structure, safety, suspension, steering, technology and levels of refinement.

The SZ Territory benefits from a new fuel-efficient 2.7-litre V6 TDCi turbo-diesel engine as well as a significantly revised I6 petrol engine, along with new six-speed automatic transmissions across rear- and all-wheel-drive models. A driver's knee airbag is a first for Territory, bringing the airbag count to five (dual front airbags complemented by curtain airbags2).

Inside, the Territory's functional and roomy cabin has been upgraded. Headlining the list of enhancements are the new instrument panel (IP), centre console, and four-spoke steering wheel, all of which share their design origins from the current-model FG Falcon sedan. The design of their push-button controls and elegant layout add to the interior's up-to-date feel.

Behind the new four-spoke steering wheel, the new instrument panel's easy-to-read gauge cluster with centrally mounted LED screen is elegant and effective. New, round air vents are located at each end of the new instrument panel. These not only enhance the look of the cabin but also provide efficient cooling and heating.

The new Territory's Interior Command Centre (ICC) – which is located at the centre of the instrument panel – is also familiar from the FG Falcon but it arrives in the new Territory with a special addition.

In an Australian Ford-first, the new Territory will be available with Ford's advanced eight-inch colour touch screen – a technology milestone for an Australian-built Ford vehicle. This stylish and simple-to-use feature will be fitted to the Territory TS and Titanium models as standard equipment. The Territory TX will be fitted with a 5.8-inch monochromatic display screen.

The new Territory has undergone a long and grueling development process. Prototypes have been involved in around 800,000km of harsh testing in some of the world's toughest locations: from the NSW Snowy Mountains region to the Victorian high country and various Australian capital cities, the new Territory has proved itself time and again.

High altitude testing up to 2500m was conducted in the US, as was extreme hot-weather testing in California's 50-plus-degrees Celsius Death Valley, Arizona deserts and, naturally, the harsh and unforgiving Australian outback. Other development locations included New Zealand, Sweden and Alaska.

The effect has been worthwhile. Like its first-generation sibling, the SZ Territory has been developed to be perfectly at home in both the city and country. Its flexible interior offers versatility for up to seven-people, without any compromise in either style or comfort.
