The Friday night concert of the 2011 Deniliquin Ute Muster and Play on the Plains Festival will have the leather-clad Queen of rock, Suzi Quatro as a headline act.

The 70s rock legend, best known for her thumping anthems including Devil Gate Drive, Can The Can and 48 Crash, will be the headline act for the Friday night concert, which will also feature a line up Australian country music stars.

Her performance at Deniliquin’s Festival will be part of her 2011 Australian tour.

While negotiations continue with other artists for the Friday and Saturday night concerts, Festival General Manager, John Harvie, said it was a fantastic coup for the Festival to have someone of the high calibre as Suzi headlining the concert.

“I think Suzi’s a great fit for our patrons – they love great rock music and together with our fantastic Australian artist we are planning to have on Friday night, it will be an awesome night of entertainment on our Country Energy Main Stage,” Mr Harvie said.

“Obviously we are thrilled to have Suzi making a performance of her Australian tour at our Festival, and it continues to show how our event in Deniliquin has grown in to a major music drawcard for performers.”

Suzi Quatro on stage will be the highlight of the first day of the 2011 Festival, taking place on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1.

The iconically Australian festival, which celebrates everything Australian and the Aussie icon of the ute, has gained an enviable reputation as an event to celebrate good music, good friends and good times.

The two huge music concerts on the Country Energy Main Stage will be just some of the major drawcards for the 2011 Festival, which will also feature The Australian National Circle Work ChampionshipsTM, sports driving competitions, family entertainment, a bull riding spectacular, show and shine competitions, and much more.

Mr Harvie said he was looking forward to being able to announce more top acts for the Festival concerts, and around the ground entertainment as negotiations were completed.
“We really think we’re going to have another fantastic event, there are a lot of things in the pipeworks at the minute,” Mr Harvie said.
