Deniliquin Ute Muster Goes pink

2010 Deniliquin Ute Muster Goes pink

Every year the Deniliquin Ute Muster supports a charity to assist in raising awareness for their cause and to provide the opportunity for the charity to raise funds and reach their target market at a ground level.

The Festival’s colour theme this year is pink and therefore organiser’s thought it apt and very worthy to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) at this year’s Muster.

The NBCF is the leading community-funded national organisation in Australia raising money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer.

Since the NBCF was established in 1994, over $67 million has been awarded to Australian-based researchers across every state and territory to improve the health and well being of those affected by breast cancer.

Festival General Manager, John Harvie is proud to support the NBCF: “We acknowledge the incredible work the NBCF do and with our colour theme being pink this year we approached the NBCF offering our support. This is a great opportunity for NBCF to reach out to rural Australians to raise awareness. So expect a lot of pink at the Festival this year”, he said.

National Breast Cancer Foundation CEO Sue Murray is excited at the prospect of being involved with the Muster: “We’d like to thank the Deniliquin Ute Muster for inviting the NBCF to join the festivities this year and raise awareness and much needed funds for breast cancer research”.

NBCF will have a site at the Festival for patrons to visit and learn more about breast cancer research and how you can get involved in their various fundraising campaigns. There will be Pink Ribbon merchandise available to purchase as well as the opportunity to make a donation – so look out for the pink tent and come and say g’day!

With legendary band Cold Chisel headlining the 2010 Deni Ute Muster along with Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers, John Williamson, James Reyne and more the Festival is expecting a sell out.

Furthermore, a top class day entertainment programme of extreme sports, bull ride spectacular, Day Stage, IWA Pro Wrestling, AWPA NSW Whip cracking Championships, ute competitions, displays and exhibitions to suit all ages.

In only 12 years the Deniliquin Ute Muster has grown from strength to strength. A not-for-profit community driven event held on the NSW Labour Day Long weekend every year the Muster provides a much needed economic boost to the region.

Around 20,000 people from all over OZ and beyond make the pilgrimage each year to be part of this national iconic event.

Set on the flattest open plains on earth the site includes a huge family camping area that caters for sedans, caravans, camper trailers and mobile homes so if you don’t have a ute – don’t despair, everyone is welcome.

Tickets are one sale now so get in quick to avoid disappointment! Tickets available online at www.deniutemuster.com.au or by phone: (03) 5881 3388 and at all Sanity Music stores nationally.

The Deniliquin Ute Muster runs from Friday 1 October - Saturday 2 October 2010, located in Deniliquin, Southern Riverina, New South Wales.
